Cleveland Brown Training Camp Bake Sale 2023
This is a vocational program where differently-abled Citizens are given the resources to develop baking and customer service skills. A catering menu of baked goods will be available for purchase online. Sweetie Pies will also have pop-up bakeries for community events throughout the year.
Art provides an outlet to communicate feelings. Art is an opportunity to take a picture or an idea in your head and make it into something tangible. With art, the possibilities are endless. Art can create employment for Citizens with cognitive delays. The possibilities are endless!
Citizens are building independence through learning about and planting fresh vegetables and herbs to be used in their favorite recipes.
The vegetables are grown indoors using hydroponics and grow lights
on raised beds, allowing Citizens to work comfortably.
This program promotes exercise and get our Citizens moving! Two days a week, Jacob's Ladder comes to the center to provide instruction on how to exercise in a healthy and safe environment. Our Citizens are learning that exercise can help you become strong and fit, making you feel better.
The curriculum addresses the unique learning needs of differently-abled Citizens. Individuals with cognitive developmental abilities require ongoing support. If an individual has the capacity to carry on a give-and-take, two-way, simple conversation with others, they can learn to read.
The wellness clinic is accessible daily to allow Citizens to manage aspects of their health and wellness. The clinic consists of a weight scale, pulse oximeter, and blood pressure cuff. Medical data can be monitored to specifically tailor programs to increase the health status of our Citizens.
Once everyone has been athletically evaluated, we can recommend unique adaptive sport group activities.
Citizens will participate in field trips to Polaris, the Library, County Fair,
IX Center, and Playhouse Square.
Using art, dance, theater, and music as therapeutic tools, differenly-abled Citizens can address communication, academic, motor, emotional, and social skills as well as develop talents
in the fine arts.
Citizens are also given the opportunity to showcase their artwork at our art show which is open to the public
once a year.
An on-premises pampering salon supported by visits from cosmetology students from Polaris offers haircuts, manicures, and pedicures for a minimum out-of-pocket cost.
